The history of the House begins with Pierre Philipponnat, who registered his coat of arms on July 28, 1697, which is still the emblem of the House. Created by Auguste and Pierre Philipponnat in 1910, the Philipponnat Champagne House has owned since 1935 the largest, steepest and oldest clos in Champagne, the Clos des Goisses with a surface area of 5.5 hectares, consisting of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, it is a magnificent hillside facing south and overlooking the Marne.
