For almost five centuries, the Philipponnat family has left its mark on the Champagne terroir, having been winegrowers, merchants and suppliers to Louis XIV, magistrates and Royal Mayors of A・・, among others. The history of the House begins with Pierre Philipponnat, who registered his coat of arms on July 28, 1697, which is still the emblem of the House. Created by Auguste and Pierre Philipponnat in 1910, the Philipponnat Champagne House has owned since 1935 the largest, steepest and oldest clos in Champagne, the Clos des Goisses with a surface area of 5.5 hectares, consisting of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, it is a magnificent hillside facing south and overlooking the Marne.
